Holiday Sale & Deadlines

What is the Free 2nd Day Shipping Promotion?
All US orders of vintage charms of $495+ placed between December 13th and 16th will ship with expedited, 2-day shipping, free of charge. There is no code necessary, and the shipping will reflect automatically on qualified carts.
Will any orders I place during Black Friday/Cyber Monday make it in time for the holidays? 
All orders placed during this sale are expected to arrive by Christmas. If you need your order by a certain date and still have questions after reviewing our shipping timeline, please reach out to us to discuss stocking and shopping options, and we will let you know if it is possible. We also recommend selecting expedited shipping at checkout to aid your order in a timely arrival, as all mail carriers experience high volumes of orders this time of year and anticipate potential shipping delays.
When are your shipping deadlines for the holidays? 
All orders placed before Monday, December 9th, are expected to arrive by Christmas. Please contact us to confirm availability and timelines if you are adding any customizations, like engraving, to your order, as those will affect the shipping timeline. You can also refer to our gifting guide, which explains the expected timelines for customizations.
Can I shop in person? 

In-person shopping in the Charmco showroom is not available in the month of December. We look forward to seeing you in person in the new year!

Do you have an extended return period for the holidays? 
Yes! All holiday orders are eligible for extended returns. Please make sure any returns arrive after we are back in the office on Thursday, January 2nd, 2025. The last date we will accept a return is Friday, January 10th. Please follow the instructions listed in the returns & exchanges segment of the FAQs.
I need help with my order; when is the Charmco team available?
Our regular business hours are Monday - Friday, 10 AM-6 PM EST. Our website is open 24/7, but the Charmco team will be out of the office from Wednesday, November 27th, through Sunday, December 1st, to celebrate Thanksgiving. Please email all questions and concerns to info@charmco.com, and we will get back to you promptly upon our return.
Are there any office closures I should be aware of?

Yes. The Charmco offices will be closed from Wednesday, November 27th, through Sunday, December 1st, as well as Monday, December 23rd, 2024, through Wednesday, January 1st, 2025. We will answer all questions and concerns via email as soon as possible. Please note in-person shopping in the Charmco showroom is not available in the month of December. 

Charms and Chains

What types of charms do you sell?
We sell vintage, vintage-inspired, and modern, sought-after 14 karat gold charms. If a charm is listed as "Vintage," it is an older collectible that we have acquired over the years and lives in our "Vintage Vault".

Vintage Vault

Our one-of-a-kind vintage gold charms, lovingly curated by our charm experts, span every era, from Victorian sentimental miniatures to post-war travel and life-themed miniatures. Many of these charms were created in 9k, 10k, 14k, and 18k gold, depending on their origin. While we can not always know the provenance of the charms we collect, we try to list as many details as possible online. Our full vintage collection is housed in our New York showroom vault, so book an appointment or shop the “Latest Arrivals” to see the newest as we list charms weekly.

Charmco Collection

Our 14k gold Charmco collection charms are proudly made in the USA, right here in our New York City studio. We're constantly designing and dropping new charms and striving to craft on-trend, sought-after styles. Many are inspired by our favorite vintage and antique charms but with a modern twist! Charmco's collection includes over a thousand styles that are noted for their handmade movable elements, fine details, and sophistication. Collection charms are available in 14k yellow gold, and many by special order, in 14k white gold and 14k rose gold. While we keep a small stock of our most popular designs on hand, most new charms are made to order, specifically for you. By mindfully curating our vintage vault and not over-producing new pieces, we aim to avoid excess and unnecessary inventory and only produce charms as they are ordered.

Curating vintage and producing made-to-order, direct-to-consumer new pieces are just a few ways to keep our environmental impact low and have a more eco-friendly approach to fine jewelry.

Are Charmco charms made from real gold?

Yes. All charms from the Charmco collection are crafted in our New York studio with 14 karat yellow gold. You can place a special order for 14 karat white and rose gold with us. The charms in our Vintage Vault are primarily 14 karat gold, but we also have a few made from 9k,10k, and 18k. Please check the vintage charm's description for more information. All charms are checked for quality and authenticity before being added to the vault.

We do not offer any charms in vermiel, gold-plated, gold-filled, or sterling silver.

What is a jump ring?
Jump rings are the gold loops that connect a charm to a chain or bracelet. When ordering your charms, you can indicate if you'd like us to leave the jump ring open, solder it closed, or attach it to a bracelet or necklace in your cart. To learn more about these options, click here.
What does "open jump ring" mean?

Most of our charms come with an open gold loop (jump ring) which is used to attach them to a bracelet or necklace. We recommend this ring be closed professionally by soldering before wearing. Soldering is a process that bonds two pieces of metal together securing a charm to a chain or bracelet. This process can be done by a local jeweler or by Charmco prior to shipping. At checkout you will be asked to select one of the below options. Please note that soldering and attachments are a service offered by Charmco for $10 per charm and this charge is considered non-refundable.

How are charms placed on chains, if attached?

For Bracelets: A single charm will generally be soldered to the center of the bracelet. Multiple charms will be attached by a charm stylist in a balanced order. If you have a certain order you prefer, please let us know in the "Notes" section at checkout.

For Necklaces: We will solder the jump ring and slide the charms on your selected chain. If you are looking to have us "station" or attach the charms to certain links, please let us know in the "Notes" section at checkout.

What are charm connectors and clasps?
Charm connectors and clasps are great for versatility. Charm clasps act as a replacement for the jump ring and open and snap shut so you can move it from chain to chain. Charm connectors are larger, singular clasps you can use to style and stack your charms. To learn more about these options, click here.
Do you offer engraving?

Yes, an engraved charm goes that extra mile. Whether it’s a monogram, name, birthday, or message you want to engrave, we have the charm for you. The charms in our "Engravables" category are made with personalization in mind. You may add names, initials, birthdates or a longer thoughtful message. Please refer to our "Engraving Styles" to view the font styles that we offer via machine engraving. Please be mindful that charms are small and we may not be able to add your entire message, refer to alternate images as a reference. Specific instructions can also be added in the order notes at checkout. We will contact you if we have any questions regarding your engraving order. We consider all engraved orders to be special orders and non-refundable.

Please allow 2-3 extra business days for engraved charms.

What are special orders?
All engraved charms are considered special orders. All picture charms (with your pet or child) are special orders. All 14k white gold charms and chains, as well as 14k rose gold charms and chains, are considered special orders.

Additionally, any order that you have contracted with us to make exclusively for you is considered a special order. Special orders can take an additional 7-10 business days or more during the busy holiday season.

Are special orders refundable?

No, all special orders are considered non-refundable.

Please refer to our list of "Special Orders" above to learn which charms are final sale.

Payment

What payment types do you accept?

United States

For all orders within the United States, we accept all major credit cards via our secure payment gateway Authorize.net as well as PayPal. Payments are processed immediately. You will receive an email confirming your order once it has been placed.

Non-United States

For all orders outside of the United States, we only accept PayPal as internationally billed cards will not be accepted by our payment gateway. Payments are processed immediately. Charmco will only ship orders outside the United States to the confirmed address on file for the PayPal account holder. You will receive an email confirming your order once it has been placed.

Do you charge sales tax?

Sales tax is only charged for orders shipped within New York State. Sales tax will be automatically calculated in the shopping cart once you add your shipping address. If there are any questions regarding your order, we will contact you.

Do you accept PO Box Billing Addresses?

Yes. If your billing address is a PO Box, please enter this information as usual. However, UPS does not offer shipping to PO Boxes. Please provide an accurate street address so that we do not have undue delays in shipping your package.

Shipping & Delivery

What is the delivery timeline?

Due to the high volume of deliveries, UPS is unable to guarantee estimated delivery dates. Be sure to keep an eye on your tracking number for the most up to date info!

We do our very best to ship all orders quickly and with the greatest care. All vintage charm orders will ship within 2 business days of your order. For engraved orders or any custom jewelry work, please allow an additional 2-3 business days. Our collection charms are made-to-order and take 5-7 business days upon order. For engraved orders or any custom jewelry work, please allow an additional 2-3 business days. All custom built charm bracelets and necklaces are thoughtfully assembled by us and created specifically for you. We ask that you allow time for us to make, engrave, assemble and finalize your charm jewelry. If you have a rush order or plan to travel, please reach out with your dates so that we understand your expectations and we will communicate the possibilities for rush shipping at that time.

If there is an unforeseen delay or a problem with your order, we will be in touch.

Please note that by selecting expedited shipping, you are not guaranteed that your order will ship immediately. While we do our very best to ship orders, we have to allow the time and care that our jewelry (and you, the client!) deserves.

We are not responsible for any UPS delays in service.

Do you accommodate rush orders?
Yes, we understand that sometimes you are in a rush. Please contact us via email at info@charmco.com or by phone at 1-800-616-6067 and we will let you know if we can accommodate your request.
What are your shipping policies for United States orders?

In the continental United States, orders of $200 or more ship free with UPS Ground Shipping. We include insurance for the full retail value on all orders.

Allow 1-5 business days once your package has shipped. Don't fret your package is insured but if you would like to sign for your package, please let us know in the order notes. "Signature Required" will incur an additional fee.

We also offer UPS Three Day Select, Second Day, or Next Day to expedite your order. UPS rates will be calculated at checkout. Orders are delivered Monday-Friday standard UPS delivery.
By selecting expedited shipping, you are not guaranteed that your order will ship immediately.

If there is an unforeseen delay or a problem with your order, we will be in touch.

Once your order has shipped, you will receive an email with a UPS tracking number.

We are not responsible for any UPS delays in service. If your package appears to be lost, please contact us so that we may begin a trace on your shipment.

What are your shipping policies for Non-United States orders?

We ship to select countries outside of the United States via UPS. We include insurance for the full retail value on all orders. We offer UPS Worldwide Expedited and UPS Worldwide Saver. UPS rates will be calculated at checkout. Please note: Customers are responsible for all duties and taxes applied to the shipment. Once your order has shipped you will receive an email with a UPS tracking number.

Orders outside the United States will require you to checkout with PayPal. Charmco only ships orders outside the United States to the confirmed address on file for the PayPal account holder.

Do you ship to PO Boxes?

No. UPS will not deliver packages to PO Boxes, please provide an accurate street address.

Do you ship to military addresses?

Yes. We ship to all Military addresses via USPS.

Gift Orders

How do you handle gift orders?

For all gift orders shipping to an address other than the billing address, we reserve the right to confirm the order details with you via telephone or email. All Charmco orders ship with a simple packing slip that does not feature any prices, so if you are sending a gift, rest assured the packing slip acts as a gift receipt.

Do you offer gift wrapping?
Yes, ALL Charmco orders arrive in our signature brown gift box and pouch, or gift box depending on your order. You may personalize a gift message at checkout which we include with your package.
How do I redeem my gift card?
At checkout, enter the unique code that is in the gift card email into the "gift card box" and click apply. Check your gift card balance here

Returns & Exchanges

Do you accept returns and exchanges?

We accept returns of unworn and undamaged jewelry within 14 days from the time of delivery. After this period, you will receive store credit for your return. We will not accept returns or exchanges after 30 days from the date of delivery.

Please note, we do not accept returns or exchanges of items marked as final sale, engraved orders, custom orders, white gold charms and chains or rose gold charms and chains.

What is your return process?

To initiate a return, please email us at info@charmco.com with your order number and let us know about your return. We will respond as quickly as possible with an acknowledgement of your return. Your return must be accompanied by the original packing list or receipt as well as gift box. Return shipments should be appropriately insured and sent to the address below with a trackable method (such as UPS, FedEx or USPS).

When will I receive my refund?

Please allow 2-3 business days from the time we receive your package for a return credit to be processed. Process time may be longer during peak holiday seasons. Your refund will either be credited to the original purchaser's credit card or gift card, as applicable. Please note that we are not in control of when the reversed charge is credited to your account, please contact your bank for further information.

What is your store credit policy?

Orders returned after 14 days but within 30 days of your receipt will receive a store credit. To receive store credit you must have an account with Charmco. Please create an account online for us to add your credit. Store credit is valid from one year of date of purchase. We only accept returns of unworn and unaltered jewelry. We reserve the right to refuse to credit any returned jewelry which is damaged or non refundable based on our store policy.

What is your exchange policy?

We understand that sometimes you may want to exchange an item for something else or someone may have bought you a charm for the second time! Email us at info@charmco.com to process your exchange.

Can I return final sale items or special orders?

No. We do not accept returns or exchanges of items marked as final sale, engraved orders, custom orders, white gold charms and chains or rose gold charms and chains.

Care & Repair

What is your repair policy? What if my charm or chain needs repair at a later date?

Our handcrafted 14k collection charms are proudly made in the USA and we stand behind the integrity and quality of our charms. We rigorously inspect every item being shipped, but if something is wrong with an item you just received, please don't worry. We will repair or replace any charm which does not meet our standards upon customer receipt.

Within the first year of receipt, we offer free repair for collection jewelry if the issue is due to a manufacturing defect. After one year, or if the damage is due to customer handling, a repair fee will be quoted once the jewelry has been inspected.

If you receive a vintage charm from Charmco, we have also checked and inspected the quality and condition of this vintage or antique piece before it was shipped. We will do our best to repair any issue with a vintage charm within eight weeks of receipt. After that time, we are not responsible for the wear and tear that can degrade the quality of these older pieces.

How should I care for my jewelry?

For care, to safely clean charms and charm jewelry, use an old toothbrush to get into all the nooks and crannies with mild detergent-free soap. Be gentle. Dry completely with a lint-free jewelry cloth, as wetness can compromise the integrity of clasps over time.

Lockets, glass stone shakes, pearl encrusted charms or enameled charms should be treated with greater care. Please do not swim or do strenuous activity with your charms as they may get lost, dented, or damaged. Older enamel charms may also lose some coloration over time.

Store your jewelry in a velvet-lined box or in separate pouches/compartments to keep them from getting scratched or brushing against other jewelry.

Please only entrust your charm jewelry to a reputable jewelry store or jeweler.

Yes, we strive to create a boutique atmosphere online and are happy to work personally with each customer and offer great attention to find the exact right charm for you or your loved one.

Do you offer styling services?

Please reach out to our team if you need help shopping for your next charm, picking a gift, or want help styling your Charmco collection. We also offer in-person shopping appointments in our NYC office, which can be scheduled by emailing or calling us at 1-800-616-6067.

Do you offer in-person appointments?

Yes, in-store shopping is done by appointment only, Monday–Friday, 11am–4pm. We are located in midtown Manhattan’s historic jewelry district on West 47th Street. To schedule an appointment, please contact us via email at info@charmco.com.

Unfortunately, due to Covid, we are only accepting appointments for one to two individuals at a time. We appreciate your understanding.

If you are not able to make it in to our Midtown Manhattan showroom, we are always happy to send pictures or videos of any charm or chain to make you feel more confident in your order.

Wholesale

Do you sell wholesale?

No, after working with boutiques and department stores across the country for many years, we decided to sell our charms and chain exclusively through our own website. This has allowed us to keep our prices lower, extend the greatest possible selection, and provide outstanding customer service to our customers.
